We love seeing the world through the eyes of a child.  We love their imaginations, their senses, and their wonder – running, romping, daydreaming, gazing at the clouds.  That’s what Milkbarn is all about.

Our World

Milkbarn's Essence

We like to think of Milkbarn as a one-word poem.  Our essence, imagination, and love all rolled into just eight letters.

In our world, lions, elephants, and butterflies roam freely.  In our world, orange giraffes graze the redwood forests while cows and sheep serenade the Pacific Ocean.  In our world, artichokes giggle as bumblebees and blue whales settle gently on our fingertips.

In our world, the world of Milkbarn, we celebrate a child’s imagination.

Our History

A Leap of Faith

Like time-worn pages of a beloved novel, the story of Milkbarn holds a sacred place in the hearts of many.  In 2006, Stacy Phillips founded what would eventually become Milkbarn.  With an artistic spirit inspired by her seven-month-old son, Stacy began sewing bibs.  Baby bibs and accessories gave way to a limited apparel collection, and the family farmhouse kitchen table soon doubled as a design studio.  This newfound passion for children’s wear, a desire to inspire others, and a yearning to enrich lives helped plant the seeds of Milkbarn.

From those early days, every treasure embodied a playfulness with an understated maturity, a Milkbarn hallmark still rare in baby clothing.

As Milkbarn grew, their treasured goods found new homes worldwide.  Milkbarn’s roots, though, will forever remain in dairy country, the rolling hills north of San Francisco.  Wildflower-covered hillsides dotted with barnyards blended with the vibrant, textured streets of the neighboring City by the Bay continue to influence Milkbarn’s aesthetic—a whimsical aesthetic simply defined as vintage yet modern; country yet urban; rustic and yet clean, cool and timeless.

Stacy resides in Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee, drawing inspiration from her husband, three children, family, and friends.  She cherishes early morning reading, long walks, traveling, and exploring country backroads.  Should you cross paths with Stacy one day, don’t be surprised if you find yourself sharing a deep, heartfelt conversation over an old-fashioned cup of tea.

Our Designs

A Magical Collaboration

Milkbarn’s original, one-of-a-kind prints and designs showcase a magical collaboration between Stacy and her daughter, Haley Hunt.  This mother-daughter duo creates more than just images on fabric; they weave untold stories, wonder, and love into every piece.

Haley’s distinctive artwork has become integral to Milkbarn’s textiles and fabrics.  From rich, realistic vignettes; to whimsical, larger-than-life illustrations; to bold, detailed paintings, every brushstroke begins by celebrating a child’s imagination.  In addition to working on textile prints, Haley illustrates the Milkbarn collection of children’s books, bringing to life the stories told by a select group of authors.

In every single book, the illustrations are absolutely mind-blowingly beautiful. That’s what sold these books for me.
