Children's Book Author Wendy Wallace for Milkbarn Kids
Author, Wendy Wallace

Wendy Wallace married her high school sweetheart and together they are currently renovating an old farmhouse in central Texas. She loves when the grandkids are over, swinging in the trees and singing around the campfire. She is most herself in the garden, feeding the animals that are ever-multiplying on the new homestead. Forever grateful to her Milkbarn family for letting her tell this story, and to Charlie and Haley for their contributions to making this book come to life.

Illustrator Haley Hunt for The Little Rooster and Husband Charlie Hunt for Milkbarn Kids
Illustrator, Haley Hunt

Capturing a moment in time with a mixture of watercolor, gouache, and a touch of whimsy, Southern California artist and illustrator Haley Hunt brings to life the pages of Finn the Firefly, one of eight children’s books illustrated for Milkbarn. For many years, Haley’s sketches and drawings have played an integral part in Milkbarn’s one-of-a-kind prints. Haley and her husband, Charlie, make their home along the shores of San Diego where she enjoys surfing, walks along the beach, and experimenting in the kitchen.

Finn the Firefly
A Celebration of Light + Love

There once was a firefly name Finn

He lived in a beautiful hazy meadow

filled with river ferns and dusted with morning glories,

where the wind would rustle tall grasses against the soft sky.
