We know our little ones grow at their own pace and a general size may vary from one designer to another.

We tried to minimize as much guesswork by providing our Milkbarn Size Guide. If your measurements fall somewhere between two different sizes, we recommend selecting the larger of the sizes.

Except for our Zipper Pajamas, we size our pieces generously, allowing for room to grow. We design our Zipper Pajamas to be snug fitting and you can read more about our Zipper Pajamas with the next question.

At Milkbarn, we place a high value on our child's safety, well-being and comfort. We choose to make snug fitting sleepwear instead of treating our fabrics with potentially harmful and irritating chemicals.

For reference, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) requires children's sleepwear above 9 months and up to size 14 either be flame resistant or be "snug fitting" as defined by their specified dimensions. Our organic cotton and our rayon from bamboo are not naturally flame resistant. Based on the CPSC standards our fabrics can either be treated with a chemical flame retardant or worn "snug fitting." Our choice was easy. We create snug fitting pajamas and protect our little ones from potentially harmful and irritating chemicals.

We try to keep our care process as simple as possible. For our organic cotton and for our rayon from bamboo, wash in cold water and do not use bleach. If using a washing machine, choose a gentle wash cycle setting. If hand washing, rinse well to prevent any build-up from detergent.

If using a dryer, choose the lowest and coolest dryer setting. If naturally drying, use a drying rack laying each piece flat or hang dry each piece.

To remove any wrinkles, we recommend a light steaming or a light temperature iron.

All of our fabrics are pre-washed to minimize shrinking. Each finished piece goes through an additional softening wash.

The fibres in our rayon from bamboo naturally condense when wet. After washing, you’ll notice the fabric may seem a little rough and stiff. These characteristics are normal and part of the natural qualities of rayon from bamboo. Rest assured, the fabric will expand to nearly its original size and the gentle softness will return once dry.

You may use a dryer on the lowest heat or you may use a drying rack laying each piece flat. Contrary to what you may think, using a dryer will not shrink the fabric. Again, as our rayon from bamboo dries, the fabric expands. To assist in removing any wrinkles and to help expand the fabric back to its original size, a light temperature iron or light steaming may be used.
