Author, Tina Yawn Seago

Author Tina Yawn Seago writes quiet stories because her Tennessee farmhouse is noisy. Nestled between the banks of the Duck River and the bluffs of Bear Creek, Tina shares life with a bunch of beautiful kids, their very good papa, and plenty of pets and wildlife to fill a modern-day Noah’s ark. Tina is a longtime member of The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and has won multiple awards for her picture book manuscripts, including Mr. Harvey’s Barn. She grew up in South Louisiana, where she battled mosquitos, built palmetto forts, devoured boiled crawfish, and married a boy named Mark.

Capturing a moment in time with a mixture of watercolor, gouache, and a touch of whimsy, Southern California artist and illustrator Haley Hunt brings to life the pages of A Sand Story, one of eight children’s books illustrated for Milkbarn. For many years, Haley’s sketches and drawings have played an integral part in Milkbarn’s one-of-a-kind prints. Haley and her husband, Charlie, make their home along the shores of San Diego, where she enjoys surfing, walks along the beach, and experimenting in the kitchen.
